Unit 8 Photography

In this shot I ustilised the structure of the restaurant to include a rule of three within it. The image shows the bustling nightlife found within Doncaster and the colourful bright neon lights that incorporate the building. The structural beams almost act as cuts that go through the image and split it into thirds, making the image balanced and pleasing to look at. Also, the incorporation of the reflection of the neon sign creates a golden ratio that leads the viewer into the rest of the image. Helping create a beautiful, perfectly balanced design that is aesthetically pleasing to look at, making the image flow well for the viewer.  In this shot I have cropped the original image and ustilised the rule of three by placing it off center. Also, I have used highly contrasted colours to make the church stand out in the image, allowing it to lead the viewer through the image. P3 In this video I have shown how I have used the camera settings to take specific images and show what happens. The video goes over how I manipulated the aperture, shutter speed and file type off the camera, so that I could get the most perfect shot. I plan on shooting a night shot that includes motion. To execute this style I would need to control my shutter speed and utilise a tripod to achieve a very steady shot. Setting my shutter speed to ten seconds meant that the picture would take ten seconds to capture all of the image. This meant that it the camera would capture all of the motion and light in the image, allowing it to create a very beautiful image that shows the motion of cars on a motorway.  In this photo of me with the camera I was decreasing the aperture so that I could achieve a blurry background in the images. During this lesson we began editing Raw images on the adobe Lightroom app and we learnt how to use features such as the brush, colour editing, and healing brush. All these features can be used to make a picture become more clean and exciting.  In this image, I began by using the Healing brush to get rid of the flowers that were cluttering the space on the photo. You can see where I have changed the image as there are circles that have been left in place of the flowers. I can easily get rid of these Aswell by pressing 'O' on my keyboard. After this, I used the paint tool to paint out the beach and sea. Doing this allowed me to change the colour, exposure, and saturation of this section of the picture. I desaturated the beach and sea which made a huge contrast towards the colourful greenery. I then did the same with the grass but lifted the saturation which furthered this effect.

M2  I have been commissioned by the Doncaster Council to take photos that show the beauty that is hidden in Doncaster. This will result in me interacting with people in public spaces. This is my report about the legal and ethical considerations that I will need to follow when shooting outside in public. If I do not follow these requirements, I could potentially cause harm to people or damage the equipment I am using.  Legally, I am allowe d to shoot  outside  in public. It  isn't   illegal  to film or capture people in shots as long as they are in a public space.  If I am taking photographs from private land, you need to have the land owner's permission. With this though, there are many ethical considerations that I would need to consider before taking pictures of people. Explain the purpose of my photoshoot  -I have been comitioned by the council to capture a lot of beautiful areas that are hidden in a town that has garnered a lot of bad press. I will use areas such as the giant painting on the wall near the bus station, this is a great area that shows the progress that Doncaster has undertaken and how it has used something like graffiti to its advantage in making Doncaster a more beautiful area.  Moodboard  I plan to use the styles of Documentary and Urban landscape to show the Beauty of Doncaster.  Plan 10 photos -A photo of the giant painting on the wall near the bus station/ I will stand at an angle which shows the best view of the wall. I would then take a landscape photo of the picture.
