Lo2 M2 Legal and ethical issue when filming
M2 I have been commissioned by the Doncaster Council to take photos that show the beauty that is hidden in Doncaster. This will result in me interacting with people in public spaces. This is my report about the legal and ethical considerations that I will need to follow when shooting outside in public. If I do not follow these requirements, I could potentially cause harm to people or damage the equipment I am using. Legally, I am allowe d to shoot outside in public. It isn't illegal to film or capture people in shots as long as they are in a public space. If I am taking photographs from private land, you need to have the land owner's permission. With this though, there are many ethical considerations that I would need to consider before taking pictures of people. I do not want to capture photos like Bruce Gillman as he purposefully gets close to peoples face in order to capture a picture that shows the shock and the chaos of a busy city in New York.
