Lo2 M2 Legal and ethical issue when filming

M2  I have been commissioned by the Doncaster Council to take photos that show the beauty that is hidden in Doncaster. This will result in me interacting with people in public spaces. This is my report about the legal and ethical considerations that I will need to follow when shooting outside in public. If I do not follow these requirements, I could potentially cause harm to people or damage the equipment I am using.  Legally, I am allowe d to shoot  outside  in public. It  isn't   illegal  to film or capture people in shots as long as they are in a public space.  If I am taking photographs from private land, you need to have the land owner's permission. With this though, there are many ethical considerations that I would need to consider before taking pictures of people. I do not want to capture photos like Bruce  Gillman as he purposefully gets close to peoples face in order to capture a picture that shows the shock and the chaos of a busy city in New York. Lo3 D1 Controlling the shutter speed and using a tripod

  This picture was taken at a bridge on top of the Warms worth motorway. I set the image up using a tripod and stood slightly in the middle of the bridge, hoping to incorporate both sides of the road. I controlled the shutter speed and set it to a 10 second shot. I also tried to take some using a 5 second shot, and a 30 second shot. However, this shot turned out the best and showed more light trails from the cars. I like this shot as it shows how I am able to edit the shutter speed to create a really interesting shot that is pleasing and balanced. The way the lights and road curve lead the viewer into the rest of the image. The foreground of the image is mainly in focus, that is because the bright roads in the image stand out to the viewer. The combination of the leading lines rule and the bright colours contrasted against the otherwise dark image lead the viewer into the rest of the image. This makes it more appealing to the viewer as the image flows better into the background.

What is metadata? Photo metadata is  a set of data describing and providing information about rights and administration of an image . It allows information to be transported with an image file, in a way that can be understood by other software and human users. This allows photographers to include copyright data into their images, as to stop people from stealing their work and calling it their own.  EXIF Data. EXIF stands for 'Exchangeable Image File Format' and refers to  the basic metadata that is generated and stored by your camera whenever you take a photo . While  IPTC Photo Metadata standard is the most widely used standard because of its universal acceptance among photographers, distributors, news  organisations , archivists, and developers.  The schema defines metadata structure, properties, and fields, so that images are optimally described and easily accessed later .  For each image, I labeled a descriptive title that could be easily found.
